The Swiss watch industry is the sector from which LASAG was born. It all began in 1974 with the drilling of rubies as bearings for high quality mechanical clocks.
LASAG lasers quickly became known both within and outside of the watch industry for the cutting and welding of delicate components. Even the hardest glasses from industrially manufactured sapphire can be efficiently separated with a high feed rate and minimum cutting loss.
Today, the watch and jewelry industry still makes a significant contribution to the turnover of ROFIN-LASAG AG.
