Due to the high beam quality, LASAG lasers are particularly suited to cutting the hardest materials such as PCD, CBN, and carbide. Because of their characteristics, these materials are used for material-removal processes, for example, in milling heads.

The cutting blanks, which must be put on the most diverse of tools, must first be cut out from round blanks before they can be individually processed in 3D.

With the ROFIN-LASAG AG lasers, these blanks can be cut at a high feed rate and minimum cutting loss. Compared to the traditional method, using wire EDM, a cutting speed of up to 20x faster is achieved and the material yield increased by 10 - 20 percent.
